Progress on the Summer Reading Challenge

I'm off to a slow start on the Summer Reading Challenge! Since I've been working on inventory at school this week, I've not had as much time to read as I would like. So you can probably feel confident that you've read more than me! So far I have read or listened to 2 young adult books. I've been listening to Radiance in my car for the last week or so. I'm enjoying it! It is a bit like Elsewhere or Everlost because the main character has died and she exists in another world. Her job is to be a soul-catcher and help usher other souls into the afterlife. It is a series (of course) and the sequel Shimmer just came out this spring.

I'm also reading The River by Mary Jane Beaufrand. It has kind of a spooky, mystery feel to it. The main character Ronnie's friend Karen is murdered in the river in town and she seeks to discover what happened to her friend.

Stay tuned to see if you can catch up to me in the Summer Reading Challenge!

Summer Reading Challenge

I am issuing a Summer Reading Challenge to all Mt. Horeb Middle School students! See if you can read more books than me this summer! My goal is to read 25 books. Keep track of the titles of the books you read and have a parent sign the list. Then bring the list back to me the first week of school and earn a free book! You cannot read comic books or picturebooks for this contest! Graphic novels and chapter books are eligible for the contest. Stay tuned to my blog to see my progress over the summer!
